Our Mission
Euro International School is a real different school , The primary objective of EIS is to differentiate itself from other international institutions preserving Egyptian traditions. However, education in EIS is modern and efficient with its new methodology. This is based on a pedagogy driven by various activities with the aim of attracting the attention of the child to get an intelligent and independent way of thinking. This will ensure a bright future for our students who will get the IGCSE degree at the end of their high school. So is the British Educational system: The school year runs from September to July and is divided into three terms (semesters). The autumn term runs from September to Christmas, the Spring term runs from January to Easter and the Summer term runs from April to June.
Many children from age 2 ½ to four years of age attend pre-school. Primary schools are for children aged 4 to 11 years. This may also be referred to as Key Stage 1 (ages 4 to 7) and Key Stage 2 (ages 7 to 11). The first class in primary school is usually called the Reception class.
The subjects to be taught at primary schools are specified by the National Curriculum mainly for English, Mathematics and Science.
Between the ages of 11 and 16, children attend Secondary school, usually comprehensive schools where all abilities are taught. Secondary schools must follow the National Curriculum and assessment of the children takes place at Key Stage 3 (age 14) and Key Stage 4 (age 16). The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)/EdExcel is the principal means of assessment for 16 year olds.
Education for 16 to 18 years old is usually referred to as Sixth Form, with the Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth. In the Lower Sixth, students study for AS level exams, usually in 3 or 4 subjects, leading on to A level exams (Advanced Level) usually in 3 subjects in the Upper Sixth.
Primary Stage:
The Primary Stage includes five classes divided as follows:
Kindergarten classes (PS, MS & GS) in addition to the first two classes in the primary stage (CP & CE1). This highlights the importance of the kindergarten classes in the sequence of study in the French BAC.
Expansion classes which include the last three classes (CE2, CM1 & CM2)
IGCSE/EdExcel System:
The IGCSE is the International General Certificate of Secondary Education. It is approved and recognized by universities and employers worldwide. It starts from IG1 to IG3.
The subjects in IGCSE are classified into three levels:
The Ordinary Level (OL)
Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS)
Advanced Level (AL)
NB: AS+A2 (of the same subject) = AL
The number of subjects needed to be accepted in the Egyptian Universities is:
Minimum of 8 OL subjects
Maximum of 8 OL subjects + 2 AL or 4 AS or (1 AL + 2 AS)
With the passing grade of up to "C" in the OLs and "D" in AS and ALs
Students must take the subjects over three years.
